Hi, I am desperate need of help. When my laptop is not plugged in to power adapter it goes to dimmest setting no matter what I try. I had adjusted power settings to preserve more battery time, so now I set back to default and that didn't work. I need bright light to work especially graphics and can't get the brightness to stay on for more than a few seconds. Can anyone provide any assistance? I have Sony SZ premium 150

    thx

well download rmclock and change the dim settings it can change each one for each power profile your using. Also you should have some key combo to raise and lower it. i thk hp is f6 or somthing probly in your documents came with laptop.

I had the same problem until I switched to Sony's version of Nvidia Updated driver.
(it also cured the dim screen on battery) if you already have this version, try reinstalling it.

    From Sony

This utility updates the nVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7400 Graphics Controller Driver to version 8.4.9.1 and resolves an issue where the screen brightness remains dim after connecting to AC power.
