I have just for this email from Sony today so have filled in their form and sent it off. Hopefully they will just offer to replace the battery for a 'non - exploding' version. If they offer a full refund it is no good for me as I can find nothing comparable on the market with the 11A features and full HD screen at it's price.

Sony Germany offered me a total refund today...
Alternatively they said I can send the notebook for repair but thei do not have replaceable batteries at the moment...

So at the moment I do not know what to do. Maybe for all Flip 11 user it will be better to wait some time and Sony gets sone non exploding batteries...

The Flip 11A was to nice to stay alive... FHD Digitizer Screen with a convertible mechanism.... nothing comparable on the market for this price...

Sony uk offered me a full refund as well. Quoted 1 - 2 months before any battery was available though. Closest thing to it on the market is the Dell Venue 11 & keyboard or a dell outlet ivy bridge XPS 12 or even lenovo miix 2 11inch. Don't like the look of the XPS 11 keyboard or price and lenovo's other 11 inch offerings are ~720p screens. No new 11 inch laptops due out anytime soon that I can find and a good 9 months until any broadwell versions show up IMO. Thanks Sony.

Sony Germany stated 1 to 2 month for available replaceable batteries... But then they said, that it is unclear if the devices can be repaired due to the selling of the VAIO brand...
Very good, that I bought a 4 year warranty alongside with the Flip... So time to move to a brand, that will produce notebooks in the future...

I ordered a Yoga 11S with Haswell, 8GB Ram, 128 SSD with ADONIT Jot Pro V3 for about 795 Euro.
Hopefully this thing will fulfill my needs...

Where did you order it from? Not available in the UK in that spec at that price? Will have a look to see if your website ships to the UK. Let us know how you find the screen.
I see sony have updated when they think they will replace the batteries.
