Hi, the fan of my vaio goes always at fullspeed, even if i select "silent mode" on the vaio control center. What can i do to fix this problem?

I have a VGN-SR11M with Windows 8 Pro 64bit, and i have installed the vaio utilities.

Are you sure you dont have some other fan utility that is set on max in some way?
Have you tryed useing Vaio Fan diagnostic tool?
have you installed Sony Shared Library & Hotkey Utilities?

Its probably some driver you have missed or something like that, but check your temperature just in case to make sure there aint a reason for the max fan.

If nothing of this works i would try doing a clean install.

I have done a clean install and installed the OS + the vaio utilities of a z series model, the VPCZ13M9E/B model, and all worked for some days. Last night i put the computer in stand by and this morning the fan was again up to 3500RPM no stop, and the vaio control center one again can't control the speed.

I use speedfan for check the fan speed and the temperature of the CPU, which is 30°C now, btw.

I tried installing the vaio care, but i think i got the wrong fan diagnostic tool version, it doesn't start at all.

Just a thought but have you tried cleaning the dust out of the cpu heatsink? Use some compressed air in the side air vent (the big one next to the external vga connector). Use the air in short bursts so you don't overspin the fan.

It's a software problem, the problem started after one night on stand-by of my computer.

Remove all software that monitors/adjusts the temperatures or the speed of fans.

You also mentioned you have Speedfan which is probably the cause of always active fans even if temperature is low.

My next guess would be some incompatibility with windows 8.
