Damn, this are new models that will replace FW??
seems like a normal laptop made by HP or IBM, not a nice one made by sony :/ -
If it has a matte screen and will come in black in europe then I'll buy it, I rather have weaker hardware with a decent screen for my weak eyes than superb hardware with a glossy screen.
@Billy
You got to admit that laptop looks very slick, those previous shiny and coloured laptops sony introduced are not my style. Black plastic looks more prefessional and the scratches are more hidden compared to silver laptops. -
This is the European version, I would guess it's one with the "premium" screen, I'm trying to get that confirmed.
I think it looks very nice. -
Will SonyStyle USA offer us this mattle screen, guys?
-

I like how this laptop looks.
I would like to see a comparison between this matte screen and the glossy one. -
You can see the glossy version here from 0:56 min:

maybe it looks better in person, i guess we'll have to wait and see -
Too bad that it's not 15''.
It's too big.
Matt and relative good price is really rare. -
Yeah, a little big, I'm still considering this, may be overkill for my needs.
-
well you have BZ model that is 15 and matte screen. and similar black color
-
Yeah, but that series is getting old and is not very good, from what I have read...
-
I think one should still compare a matte and glossy screen in real life. A few weeks back I was at the store comparing samsung with hp monitors. The HP monitors were glossy, the samsung monitors were matte screened. The HP monitors had nicer and deeper colourers (very big difference), but they reflected more lights so its not that good when you plan on sitting next to window or work outside.
-
I've always said that glossy screens are best for movies and games, but if you actually work on the computer a matte screen is the best option.
-
Why is that so?
-
-
But when you concentrate on work, you don't want to be distracted by the shadow of someone moving behind you, or a cloud passing by.
A second and almost as important reason is that you don't have to bring out screen wipes and microfiber cloths every time you (or your boss) points at the screen. Matte screens are very smudge resistant.
Another reason is black values. The "black" of a matte screen is almost always far darker than the black of a glossy screen. Look at your display when it's turned off. That's the darkest any pixel can theoretically get. For true matte screens, this is much darker. This makes it less tiring to work on a matte display.
My old IBM and Lenovo work laptops had matte screens, and I severely miss that. -

Well, soon enough I will know how matte the F-series is, it will arrive in a week or two.
