Thought I'd mention a new case I just got for my FW378J/B: The Tucano Work_Out "Large" Slim case, which generally is described as fitting notebooks up to 15.4" screen sizes. Turns out, it fits the FW series just about as perfect as it's going to get.

I've seen some "case" mentions in the big FW Owners thread, and quite a few mentioning the Case Logic 16" case -- which does indeed fit the FW quite well. And that's the first case I picked up. But........

Man, that is just a rude, crude case. It gets the job done, but I sure thought that the zippers dragged across the notebook every time I took it out or put it back in -- it was just going to scratch the heck out of my notebook over time.

So, I went shopping, and tried quite a few things. But what really fit the best, within the "thin but well-padded" style, was this Tucano case. If anything, it fits my FW even better than the Case Logic -- it's really just like it was specifically designed for the FW series. Here are some pictures:

And the material is just worlds better than the stiff, rough Case Logic case. The Case Logic might have a bit more room for "other stuff," but the Tucano has a novel pocket that you can pull out of the outside pocket, and then stuff full of junk that wouldn't fit at all if it was inside that pocket.

The Tucano is usually about twice the price of the Case Logic, but I sure find it well worth the extra money. It's available from a number of online sellers, in a few different colors. I ran into this Kolobags site, where it's more than half off, and they've got $5.95 flat rate shipping, so that's quite a deal:

I couldn't recommend it more highly -- I'm very happy with mine!

thoots, how much padding is in this bag? (it's hard to tell from the pictures if there is any padding)

I'm looking for something that will protect against bumps, not just scrapes.

    Thanks.
