    Hello everybody!

I'm trying to overclock my T8300 in my VAIO VGN-FZ4000. I am currently aware of the BIOS lock that Sony puts on their machines, and that as today it is nearly imposible to OC from bios. But also I read that some people are able to OC via software while on Windows, with programs like "setFSB", "RMClock" or others.

SetFSB currently "supports" some Vaio notebooks (FS, P, UX..) but it doesn't support Vaio FZ. What I want to know is how can I know the "clock generator name" of my motherboard? With this I will "possibly" be able to overclock this little thing.

Or, if anyone here was able to OC their vaio fz, then I'll be glad to have the link to his/her post. I used the forum search and couldn't find much that's why I'm asking this.

Thanks a lot for your help! and oh, I'm used to OC desktop computers so I already know the pros, cons, what can go wrong and so on, how much can you gain etc. =P (saying this because there is always someone that tells you you can melt your proc and stuff like that). Haha.

Thanks! seriously, if I can oc this I will be very thankful!

Overclocking a machine with one of the Nvidia chips in it is NOT a good idea. Yes, I know you are talking about overclocking the CPU not the GPU. But with the heating/cooling cycles stress issue with these chips, any increase in temps for the entire motherboard are not good.
