Laptop was working fine all week and then now getting this message "VAIO gate has stopped working"
Seems like nothing else is working now either. When I bring up Firefox it tells me to connect to internet but I am connected. Cant open Malware or Norton to scan laptop or any files.

What happened? Was reading some other post but I cant reinstall VAIO gate because I dont have a recovery disk.

I"m I in trouble? Please help!

Run a virus scan. Try Malwarebytes. Download the program as well as the rules on another computer, copy the files on a pen drive and transfer them to the VAIO. Install the program and then run the rules.exe to provide the rules. After that, launch Malwarebytes and scan your laptop. If it doesn't run, Malwarebytes has a Chameleon mode that tries to disguise itself from a virus that might be preventing it from running.

If the scan turns up nothing, perhaps a system restore to an earlier time might work.

There are sites dedicated to virus removal that will give you better assistance.
