The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    VAIO Gate update failure (VPCEB390X)

    I attempted to upgrade my VPCEB390X with the release of the VAIO gate update (11/2010) and the installation did not work. At this point, VAIO gate no longer works as well. (application downloaded from: Sony eSupport - VPCEB390X - Software Updates & Drivers all instructions followed)

    When I attempt to reinstall original software (as available on the sony web-site) for VAIO gate, it also does not work. I am unable to recover a functional version of this software.

    It's a small program, but I like it. So I'd appreciate your help in solving this puzzle.
