This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     VAIO K45 Win XP Network Issues

    Hi, I was working on my friends VAIO PCG-K45. It already had known network problems, which I think is a bug in Windows XP Service pack 2. I reinstalled Windows Xp on sp2 and have a "limited or no connectivity" error for the wireless card, and a "A network cable is unplugged" error for the LAN port. I used the original drivers from Sony eSupport and reinstalled them. I tried changing the Duplex settings (ie 100mps/full duplex so on), ran WinSock Fix, and tried the specific update from Microsoft targeted at that bug. I even tried updating to SP3 manually, and I still can't get it to work. Anything else I should try? Thanks.
