hi. recently i've been facing issues with some users' VAIO Laptops display not detecting automatically on a projector. It works fine after a restart. The projector works fine on other laptops like HP or DELL without a restart. Is there a fix to go about it without a restart? Thanks.

I've noticed there's a new util on this SZ7 in the VAIO Control Center called "External Display Detection Setting"
Here's the explanation :
Only had this laptop for a week and so far if the external monitor is connected and powered up before I start the laptop it detects and and even sets the correct resolution. The older SZ2 I had would always put the external display in 1280x800 res, same as the laptop screen and duplicate, not extend.
Surely you can go in to display settings and enable the projector or even use the Fn+F7 key instead of rebooting the laptop. -
Hi. I have the same issue. I have just reinstalled my Win XP SP3. And installed all the drivers. The computer is completely working. Display drivers are nVidia. But when I do FN + F7 to connect the computer to external display, it doesn't work. The SZ vaio does nothing. If I use display to "extend this computer to this monitor" (which is my LCD television) then it works, but my video files don't show up on my LCD TV which is a Bravia TV. Any thoughts on how to make the FN + F7 work??
