    VAIO NR problem - shut down/start up

    Asking for a friend. She has a NR-160 with Vista. The problem is whenever she shuts down directly, the next time she starts the laptop it always asks her if she wants to start in safe mode. Of course, she can select no and it will start normally, but this is really annoying. Also if she first logs off then shuts down, this problem doesn't happen, the next time the laptop will start up just fine.

    Anyone seen this before? Any idea on what's going on and how to remedy it?
