Hi wizards, need you help here.

I am trying to install English Windows XP on PCV-LX86/BP - this is a slim laptop-like Tablet PC. It has PCMCIA/MemoryStick slots and touch screen, though in fact this is a kind of desktop. Japanese model, made around 2002, still alive and I want to reuse it for my daughter to draw & study.
The problem is, that there is not so much to download from Sony for this model now. No branding, but what is much worse, video works only in VGA mode. I installed WinXP SP2 and it recognized most of stuff, but If I enable either Microsoft or latest NVidia driver, soon after XP startup screen the monitor shows some weird rainbow, stars and goes blank. Only safe mode and VGA mode works.
Sony sells the recovery CDs to registered customers only. As I bought this PC second-hand so it's not the option, and anyway I want to have an English system there.
So I am looking for recovery CD set or a full set of preinstalled drivers for a similar hardware, be it laptop or "slimtop". The closest European model is PCV-LX2. American PCV-LX*** have totally different hardware.
The spec of my box is: Intel 845 chipset, P4 1.8GHz, 256/512 RAM, Nvidia2 MX (AGP4) 16Mb video, Realtek network, Intel AC97 82801BA/BAM sound, 4xUSB1.1, 2x1394 ports. The monitor has 34-pin connector cord, digital video+ all together with speakers, keyboard/mouse and USB.
The model home page is here: (in Japanese only)

Almost the same European model (PCV-LX2) is here:

    Could anyone give a hand???
If my question is totally out of topic here, please kindly direct to proper forums. Official Sony forums require real name and serial number to register there, so it's not for me too.
    Heeeeeelp!!!!
