    Hello!

I've upgraded my SZ with an Core2Duo 7500 CPU. Is it normal that the cpu switched the modes 2,0 - 1,6 - 1,3 - 1,0 also when on power supply? I've tested the "energy management off" option but the cpu also switched the modes...

If it's doing that on low loads then yes, it's suppose to do that. You could change the cpu settings in power management (minimum @ 100%), but i wouldn't know why. It saves energy and prolongs the life of your cpu.

It is normal and recommended. The CPU speedsteps not only to save power, but also to heat up less and thus prolong its life.

Do not try to force the CPU to run at its maximum speed, on any power profile. You will gain no performance, instead you will just shorten the life of your system by forcing FANs to run at higher RPMs and heating up the components.

O.k., thank you! So the VAIO optimized setting is the best? The minimal setting in the power options is on ac and battery 5% the maximum on ac 100% and on battery 50% - are these settings o.k.?

So how can i check if the speed is 2 ghz in games?
