I did a clean install, only missing is a:
PCI Simple Communications Controller
What is that? And where do I find it?

The download that I linked to is the Intel Chipset Driver update utility. And after seeing the hardware ID's that's the download that you need. And are you exactly sure that's the model number? That model number doesn't show up on the Sony support site.

I've installed Windows 7, the chipset should be updated, as I found the link on VAIO support site for my model:
