    Hello
    I have a VPCSE2J9E (Vaio S15) with a regular hardisk.

I will replace the Stock WD HDD to SSD, and put the old HDD into a caddy and replace the Cdrom.
I tested this steps already , and everthing works fine.

My questions belongs to the Window 7 Installation :
How do I get the preinstalled windows 7 factory Recovery Backup from Sony to the new SSD ?

I want make a new factory Reset on SSD (like recovery with the assist key),
For that I want to make an Vaio Recovery Stick on Usb Stick. This USB Stick i would take for new installation from time time

When I make a backup with Vaio Care Utillity to USB Stick now, will the tool make the orginal factory backup from Sony ?
or will the tool make an backup from the "right now" Image with all programms ?

Is it possible to boot from this stick and do the factory installation to the SSD ?

    My second question:
I read many about teh SATA 3 Issue, but I do not really unterstand everything. Some posts saying SATA 3 is working , some not.
Maybe somone can give ma an short answer: If its possible , what i have to do ?

    Sorry for my bad anglish

So let's go trough it step by step:

    1. You can mirror the Content of Your HDD to the SSD. This is what I did when I bought a VAIO S for my brother and swapped the HDD for a 128GB Micron C300 SSD. I use a Apricorn USB to SATA cable and EZ GIG IV Software for that task.
    2. VAIO-Care produces a recovery media meaning that You can install the factory Image on a new HDD/SSD. That means after that You must go trough all W7 updates and Your own SW installations
    2. When starting VAIO-Care recovery media creation YOu can choose to burn discs or create a bootable recovery USB stick. Using this stick YOu can reinstall YOur HDD/SSD at any time.
    3. SATA III is backwards compatible to SATA II. You will not gain Speed by bying a SATA III SSD for the VAIO S, but You might do so at a later stage, when YOu decide to take the SSD to another machine. Besides of that I think there are not to many SATA II SSD's left on the market.

    Hope that helps You.
