Hello, I have recently purchased a new i5 vaio S from bestbuy. the first one that I got had a squeaky keyboard so I returned it for another. Both of these brand new computers audio randomly glitch out after about 20ish minutes of listening to music. This happens with both headphones and using the laptop speakers. I can only describe the sound as if you tazer'd a robot... its the weridest noise I have heard and only last for a second and then music continues to play. This happens with music on my computer, youtube videos, ect... Anyone help with this problem or a solution?

Does this happen regardless of the application playing the music, and for different music / video files? Sounds like a driver issue, did you try reinstalling the driver or checking Sony eSupport to see if they have an updated driver?

reinstalled the driver a couple times, and got the newest update. It happens with all applications that involve sound. the noise like i said is not constant but will randomly and momentarily make a weird noise

Windows 7 + Nvidia GPU = Audio clipping. Try installing newer Nvidia drivers to minimize the issue. You can google "Nvidia DPC latence issue Windows 7" to know more.

There is no know solution for this. I didn't know that Intel's integrated GPU's have this issue.

Hi there, I also have a s series i5 laptop but mine is different from yours, it is VPCS11C5E and i am experiencing the same problem as you.

Your post was written a few weeks ago so what is your situation now? I've given my laptop for repair twice to sony which has been futile!!

If you got it fixed...please tell me how?

Would ATI be better choice for a notebook used primarily for audio?
I wanted to buy F11 with i7 but it has Nvidia and read lots of complains about heat and noise as well. I could get FW P8700 for 300 Euro less- same HDD,RAM and Win 7 64 and with ATI. Considering what I can E_bay my old FZ21S, that FW would be just 300 extra for upgrade to bigger display, faster/cooler CPU,more RAM and Win 7 and 2 years warranty (my FZ is already out of warranty).
