The issue that I am having is that my batter is not charging. When i turned the computer on the first time i received the laptop it turned on just fine without the ac adapter.

Now after using it for a few hours I look at the battery icon and it seems that it has been drained rather than charged.

It just sits at 0% available but still says it's charging. Though when i unplug the ac adapter the computer just turns off.

    Anyone have any ideas.

    EDIT:

It seems that now that I have it charging with the slice battery attached it is charging the main battery and the slice is staying at 22%.

    Similar situation happen to me.

Might just need a good refresh.

    1) Remove both AC and battery power. If you have an internal battery you will need to unscrew the covering on the bottom to the laptop to remove the internal battery.

    2) Press and hold the power button down for a good solid second. Repeat this 10 times. This will remove all static charge left inside the computer.

    3) Put the battery back in and the AC power adapter.

Hopefully the sensor or whatever is cleared and things will start acting normal. I would let the battery charge for a solid 24 hours and discharge all the way. Then charge again. If it still doesn't act normal perhaps consider calling Sony if your laptop and battery is still under warranty.

    Actually...

Looks like plugging the slice battery in and then plugging in the AC adapter the battery 1 started to charge. I turned the computer off and removed the slice battery and then checked to see that everything was working and that fixed it completely.

This is the PERFECT 13 inch laptop for a student that needs it for lectures and school work in the library. Very happy with my purchase.
