Hi,
I have a Vaio SR, my idea is to swap the internal DVD drive for a 2,5" SSD with 32 or 64GB. In that way I would have the fast SSD for the OS and the slower HD for data.
Just like in the TZ Thread here in the forum.
Is there a way to do that ? That would be great! Thanks for your help.
Cheers
Jay

Any idea anyone ?

I suppose you can connect SATA SSD to the SATA connector of the DVD drive and then tape the SSD to the bottom casing. But you will need to cover the opening so that would be a cosmetic problem.

ok thanks !! Are there blind covers maybe for the dvd drives ? are they standard sized ?
-
Also, what exactly would you do in the event that you needed to do a system restore? I'm asking, cause i dont know myself...
-
external usb dvd writer for example!
-
Ah, alright, but i suppose you could follow the same logic and just use an External Additional harddrive...correct?
-
But an external harddrive is much slower then an internal one....
-
Is there a cover for the DVD writer hole ?? Any ideas ?

Ok thanks, so isn't there a bezel for some other sony vaio that fits also on the SR ? I guess the drives are standard sized on these ?
