Sony doesn't provide drivers specifically for ultimate version of vista on their support page, nor 64 bit drivers.

    Anybody try this out yet?

Haven't tried it, but maybe some of the drivers for the SR2xx series can work, since they ship with 64-bit OSes and tend to have mostly the same components/hardware.

well the drivers on the sony web site can work on any verison of 32bit vista...
so you can just use the home premium drivers for vista ultimate..

how long did the whole thing take to do? also... can you explain breifly how you did it? like general:

    1. format c drive
    2. installed vista dvd

umm.. after i did a clean install.. i had about 57 processes running at startup..
right now, a month after i did the clean install, im still at around 63 or 64

well i think if you don't need the extra features/security... upgrading is kinda pointless.. it didn't make any difference for me... but if you have ultimate, why use home premium? :p

umm yeah just put in the vista dvd, format the hdd, install windows, install drivers. its pretty easy.

Hey everyone. I own a vgn-SR190. I recently had HD failure, so had to buy new HD and reinstall vista. My original version of Vista was Business 32-bit. I didn´t make a recovery disc. So I went out and bought vista ultimate 32-bit. Figured I wouldn´t have problems, but I did. I´m having the driver issues that someone in this thread talked about, when you get the problem with vaio mode switch and the battery issue. I downloaded the drivers for Vista Business, figured it would be the same for Ultimate. But I just read someone´s post here that the home premium 32-bit drivers are the same as the ultimate 32-bit drivers. Is that true? if it is, I would just have to download the home premium drivers. I just wanted to know if anybody knows for a fact that the home premium drivers are the same as the ultimate drivers, seeing as the business drivers are obviously different.

I really appreciate any help you may offer. My comp´s been sittin around useless for four days now lol.
