Hello,
on my vaio svs1313 recieved last week i found a sticker on the unit with "Rapid Wake Eco" - as far as i know only some special VAIO units get this feature, or is it a feature on all machines? i found nothing about it in the online help and the manual, also no option in vaio care...
I´ve ordered the modell with 320 GB hdd drive, no special cache or ssd part...
My system is now running fine with an OCZ Vertex4 SSD![]()

There's a thread about Rapid Wake here somewhere. It's much faster than hibernate, almost as fast as a sleep, but the whole memory is written to a special partition. (Or rather, the writing to disk is probably just as slow as hibernate, but the waking up is impressive, not sure how they do it actually. They must probably read the current working set of running apps first so they can get started really fast, then it reads the rest while you can start working).
As you have changed your drive, that partition is probably gone, so I guess you can't use it. I have a Rapid Wake Entry in the Power Management section in Vaio Control Center. If you don't have that, I guess it's disabled because of the missing partition. -
I´ve no Rapid Wake option or setting also with the stock 320 GB HDD! This is what i mean...i don´t know why! Nothing in Power Management section or the VAIO Control center...
But when ich create a revovery disc set or usb stick and restore to factory defaults, all partitions are created - i´ve checked it with acronis on 320 GB HDD and my SSD...all partitions are the same, only c is a bit smaller after restore from stick (as it is only a 256 GB SSD) -
I have a clean install windows 8, and I have the Rapid Wake option in control center. It showed up after I intalled one of these (not sure which, I didn't look between installing them):
Sony Shared Library: SOASSL-00270315-0082.EXE
Sony Firmware Extension Parser Device: SODFEP-00270203-0082.EXE
Sony Wireless State Device: SODSWS-00269693-0082.EXE
You might try reinstalling these? And ofcourse all relevant updates. Also look whether you have any unknown hardware. If you do, let windows search for drivers in your user folder (C:\Users\'user name'), AFTER installing above drivers...
Good luck!
