I was reading the similar thread for the vaio tz, and I was wondering if it was possible to do the same in a sz.

I guess there is no easy solution, but maybe we could use something like the optibay ( www.mcetech.com/optibay/).

What would I need to swap the dvd drive for a hard drive?

    Thanks a lot

I'm curious why do you want an extra harddrive in the SZ?

I can understand it for the TZ since it normally only has space for a 1,8" HDD.

In case of the SZ you can exchange your harddrive for a Samsung 500GB which should be plenty of space on one harddrive I thought. Or if you want extreme performance there is the hitachi 7K320 320GB 7200rpm.

I could have a fast 16 Gb SSD for my system and a bigger disk for the data.
    Big SSD are so expensive!
