I have Vaio TXN25N(running vista) and it doesn't recognize SDHC cards. is there a driver or any way I can make it to read SDHC cards on vaio TX?

    thanks in advance.

Are you running SP1? If so, this may fix it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949126/en-us

    Good luck!

And if you are not running SP1 then you may need this hotfix.

PS: My G11 + Vista SP1 is reading SDHC OK.

my older TXN15p would not recognize SDHC cards when i put it in the slot on the laptop. i'm pretty sure that you need an updated card reader and the built in module on the the laptop wouldn't do it. when i hooked up my camera to USB and had the SDHC card in the camera it recognized it just fine as a 8GB SDHC.

I have tried the hotfixes, it does not work, Im afraid you might have to buy a new card reader! But no harm in trying if it works...

I believe the hardware supports SDHC as my TX850 (equivalent to the TXN1x series) read/writes to SHDC cards in linux just fine. So you probably just need to find an updated driver for the reader.

just tried the hotfix but unfortunately it still doesn't work :(
    thanks anyway.

brewt - thanks for confirming that. I clean install vista and I was suspecting that I didn't get the right driver. this could be the problem.

It's possible that the standard TX Ricoh driver (I'm assuming that it is Ricoh as on my G11)doesn't include SDHC support. (See this thread as an example). Look for the TZ or G series Ricoh driver, or look elsewhere.

I tried the all of the vista sp1 patches and i still cant get my 4gb sdhc card to work on my FZ (340) reader. funny thing for the short time i was running linux (ubuntu) it would read the 4gb card so i know the hardware is capable. i think vista is having the problem. any suggestions?

Did you also look around for an SDHC compatible driver for the reader hardware. The patches for Vista are not enough by themselves.
