    Hi All,

Sorry if this post is inapproporiate, but has anyone done the reverse of teh other thread and switch out their 2.5" HDD for the internal DVD Drive?

If so does someone have all the part #'s involved?

Or if anyone who did the DVD --> HDD would you like to sell me your DVD so I can swap my internal HDD out?

    Thanks

    I have a Sony Vaio TZ298

I don't even think thats possible; a standard optical disc alone is larger in diameter when compared to the width of a 2.5" HD. This does not count the larger width (and height) of the optical drive itself.

It's possible b/c the 2.5" HD that i have right now is taking place of the Internal DVD drive.

Optical Disc Drive + Optional Second Hard Drive
    Internal DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM Drive

    External DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM Drive + Internal 320 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [add $100.00]

    More Info
    DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM Drive
The drive is capable of burning to Rewritable DVD media. There are currently two types of Rewriteable DVD technology: DVD-RW and DVD+RW. This drive supports reading and writing of both of these media types. In addition, this drive supports the DVD±R Double layer standard.

    External DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM with 320 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400rpm]
By choosing this option you will receive an external DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM and the 250 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive will be integrated into the PC.

I purchased my laptop from another user, so it was already pre-configured with a HD instead of optical drive.
