Im just about to buy a Vaio TZ because of it's size, weight and its great battery life. My only concern is the display, if it's a 6-bit or 8-bit panel.
I know the Vaio TT is already out and sports an 8-bit panel, but with a price as twice as the TZ right know, the only reason to go for the TT would be that the TZ had a bad 6-bit panel.
    Thanks!

Actually I did not think TT has an 8-bit panel.

But regardless of 6-bit or 8-bit, to my eye the TZ screen looks better. According to measurements of Notebookjournal it's also better. It has higher contrast and brightness.

I think this is due the protective layer the TT has. So the screen is better protected but lacks some of the punch the TZ has.

Well depending on your budget you could get a TT for the same price as the TZ, which I was lucky to get. I only say this, because the GMA950 is a really stale gpu in todays time, and I do not recommend that gpu at all.

I know the HDD version of both models the difference is not that big, but with and SSD,sure it is. Usually a Vaio TT with an SSD is about $2K if not more, while TZ is usually at the half-price.

However, I've just found that the panel used in tz is the LTD111EWAX by toshiba-matsua,but couldn't find any specs or datasheet. I checked in both, toshiba and matsua (panasonic) websites + google with no luck. Hope some can find some info.
