I wanted to see if the vaio could handle counter strike source and did a stress test with everything on low and only manage to get 16fps. So sorry guys the TZ wont be able to play source although it played 1.6 just fine
-
the 170 should be able to play it im thinking because of the 2gigs of ram.
-
u serious maybe i should upgrade my ram also do you think it will make that big of a diffrence?
-
Yeah i would upgrade to 2gigs if i were you. I just purchased a tz170 off Sponsi here on the forums so once i get it i will test team fortress 2 and counter strike source but im thinking / hoping it should run.
-
Doesn't the TZ150 come with Intel GMA950? Even if you upgrade to 2GB of memory, I doubt it will run CS:S.
-
yah all tzs come with intel gma 950
-
Your still only using 1gb ram on the TZ Danybui? Did you run Vista or XP when running the game?
-
i downgraded to xp it is futile running vista with 1gb of ram and 4200rpm hdd. I eventually will upgrade to 2 gigs and a ssd when the prices go down
-
ok i tried tweaking counter strike to extract the most frames per second i can get it to. So running css on direct 8.1 and some other optimization resolution 800x640 i was able to pull at 39.45 fps on the source stress test but when I try to play on the servers its not very playble frames stay at around 10fps. I dont know if adding a 2gb stick of ram will help but Im about to get my ram in and Ill install it to see if it will help.
-
more ram will help.
-
hopefully it will
-
just got my tz170 installing CS now so will see how it goes.
-
nope no go on css
-
you need to do some launch options in order for the game to launch
-
i was able to get it to run but only had 10fps so it wasn't really playable online
-
damn that sux what about cs 1.6
-
never bought 1.6 so i can't really comment if i can play it sorry =/
-
runs great on 1.6 i just installed it my brothers tz90 ran source pretty good still getting low fps but its moves fairly well and is playable I think the 4200 rpm hard drive and my 1gig of ram is holding me back
