Looking at getting one or the other of these laptops (can get a AR790U/B for 1699.00 now) or the FW-285 for $1385.00) I know the AR790 is about a year old and the FW 285 is fairly new - the specs seem very similar except the AR790 has the TV and not sure I'd use it enough for the $300 difference - any thoughts/comments appreciated.

    Thanks

Not much travel - but maybe some - this will sit on a countertop at work (I stand and do my puting - much better on the back) I have one of the 10" 2 pound Sony's for in my truck and quick access and looooooong battery life - I want to be able to burn Blu-rays and to watch movies on sometimes (secondary source for movie watching) and I need it to be FAST as I keep lot's of programs open and do lots of work in Outlook and online at the smae time.

If you go with the FW I would suggest skipping the FW285 and instead pick up the FW373J/B, it has a faster processor and at the moment you can buy it for a lower price than the FW285. Other than that, they seem to have the same specs, though I might be missing something. Newegg has the FW373J/B for $1250. You could even choose overnight shipping and probably still save a few bucks than if you bought the FW285.

    FW285 has a 2x Blu-ray burner, and FW373J/B has Blu-ray combo, no burner.
