    Guys, I need some advice if you don’t mind. I’m new here though. I’m torn between four gadgets and I need an advice for them to pick up wisely.

    1. I really like the VAIO SZ38GP with 2 Ghz Core 2 Dou T7200 processor, finger-print security module, super lightweight, carbon fiber casing and more. I have a budget for this notebook but suddenly, number 2 got my attention.

    2. A Nokia NSeries N95 for which I really like to buy. So slashed out from my budget with number 1, Number 3 caught my attention just to buy number 2.

    3. The Asus A8JR offering features like 14.1 clear display, a Vista OS, the first ATI X2300 GPU with up to 800Mb of VRAM (128 base) and a 1.66 T5500 Core Dou 2 Processor and approximately half the price of Number 1. But I have a bad experience with Asus (A3 model, sometime in yr. 2002), though I’m seeing Asus is getting better after sometime now.

    4. In order for me to stay with VAIO brand (my current laptop is also a VAIO PCG-GRT390, heavy!) I’m also looking at VAIO SZ32GP with same processor as Number 3. This is not a carbon fiber but a magnesium alloy offering same features of SZ38GP only on casing and processor differs. The price is approximately 30% higher than Number 3.

    So what do you guys think. I like number 2 a lot. But I may change my mind depending on your advices.

    I suggest you buy no. 1 and then save money for no. 2 :)

    N95 is out few days now, and in half a month - one month, price will go down by 10-15%. I suggest to buy then. I will also buy it.

    If waiting is not an option then I suggest you take a look on A8Js. Everything is the same as A8Jr but it has way better gfx card (GeForce 7700Go with 512MB dedicated memory).

    It all depends what do you need. I had A8Js and although it's incredible machine I wanted something lighter and with better build materials, that's why I went for SZ4xx series.

    @Matta:

    Thanks for the advice.

    Perhaps you are right. Anyway, I wish the notebook retailer store in my place offers the SZ4xxx series. But they don't. There are only 2 major retailer of sony brand here in PH. In addition, the SZ38GP here costs approximately $3,125 compared with other countries offering only $2,000 plus. :( I really don't know why, shipping? handling? way too expensive... and it's only the VAIOs. Everything else are approximately the same.

    Anyway, thanks for the advice. :)

    Here, in Europe, price is also skyhigh for SZ Premium. Luckily I have a friend in USA that brought me SZ450. :)

    I see. If the VAIO's price here is like with the US, then I would not be worrying about the budget. With $3,000 allowance, i have both the SZ38 and the N95... so I may settle with SZ32 if i can't wait that long. I realized Asus is not for me though. :)

    I did a research last night about the SZ models. I thought SZ38 is overpriced in my place. but it's quite reasonable because of the import charges. i thought SZ38 has lower specs than SZ4s. the thing is that the SZ4s have Vista OS preinstalled and I'm not interested at the moment with Vista. SZ38 i think is a powerhouse on the SZ3 lineups having the T7400 Core 2 Dou. I think I'm sold out with what you have suggested. Go for the SZ38! thanks!
