Just think about all the HideousCrap(TM) that's made just to be collectible. The Franklin Mint and StarBorz barely scratch the surface. I'm not worried about this stuff going to a landfill, I worry about it not being in a landfill. While the environmental impact HideousCrap(TM) may be minor, the pain it inflicts on my aesthetic sensibilities is not.

Yeah, I removed all stickers from mine too. I like it much better that way.

I wish I could remove the stickers from the back too, but I left them alone.

It still boggles my mind a bit that MacBooks are the only laptops that come without any paper stickers (not even on the back). After all, paper is so unprofessional on a laptop made of metal/plastic/carbon fiber.

I'm believe it's harmful to the keys, because someone on this forum suggested using an ammonia free Windex over one with ammonia. the ammonia free one has been working for me so far, so I'll continue use it. I can't comment for witch hazel as i don't know what it is.

I like the stickers. It gives the laptop that new feeling to me. The use of other colors is a plus too, as i find it more appealing than just the gunmetal alone.

With respect, I think you thought wrong, at least in the case of this particular model. I think when you spend thousands on a laptop today, and it is a truly legendary piece of work, part of the joy of ownership is in preserving and caring for it - eg:

(pics omitted to save space - see OP for great shots of beautifully preserved Z)

emphasis mine. If anyone has the cred to set the tone for the care and pride of this wondrous machine, this man does!

You actually let people near it? :)

If you read through this now 2-page thread, you'll see you're not one of the few! No matter what comes in the future, the original Zs (including the VGNs) were so special on the inside, they engender near-fanatic TLC on the outside. Personally, I have the lid and palm rests protected, keep the bottom stickers from peeling and clean the keyboard and screen daily. It's a kick to have a machine that works so hard on the inside look like it was never used on the outside!
