Hi,
After reviewing a lot of complaints about the chassy/keyboard/wrist-rest scratching the screen, I simply had to get a screen protector for this really expensive investment. I've purchased all kinds of screen protectors from ebay and only found one that does not burden me with negatives. I wanted to make it seem as though there is NO screen protector on my screen. So I purchased the below and boy was I surprised.
(I removed the ebay link, just to avoid breaking forum rules, so instead, search "Anti-Glare Screen Protector 13.1 SONY VAIO Z Series")
I purchased two of these. Because if I screw up with one, i'll have a backup. Fortunately for me, I was able to put this one my screen with only ONE tiny bubble, which is on the corner of my screen. Everything was flushed and fit perfectly...
I took some pictures of it, check out my flickr site below.

The installation was relatively easy. You might want to purchase a can of air, and a good quality microfiber cloth to get rid of the dust prior to installation. The way I did it was to remove a bit of the left side of the removable plastic, stuck that side to the end of the screen, and pulled the rest of the removable plastic while pushing the protector down onto the rest of the screen. I'm telling you, the protector fits PERFECTLY... so perfectly that I think i'm gonna have a hard time trying to find a way to take it off, which is really good and a little bad at the same time. It's a mat finish so it does show finger prints as much as the glossy version does.
I don't notice a difference and I can't tell if a screen protector is really there or not...
I highly recommend this to anyone that babies their machine like I do. I didn't like the glossy version of the protector, it just shines too and you can really see the finger prints.
Thanks for reading. Questions? Post.

looking good. the lcd wont have mark anymore after installing the lcd screen protector? since you just install it, do give some feedback day after day of usage. if its solve the mark issue on lcd, i guess we've found the solution.
some user install the privacy filter to overcome the issue. -
I have installed this screen protector one month ago already. I just decided to review it now because I saw a lot of people complaining about screen scratches and marks.
I think it's safe to say that it eliminated the marks issue. -
Man I installed a screen protector and jesus christ i have about 100 bubbles.
Emailed the seller and they didnt even bother to respond to me.
It was said on the specs that it can be reused but ever since I just havent been bothered to take it off and do it again.
I hate it so much... -
I don't use overlay screen protectors due to installation nightmares!
I now use a microfiber screen protector on all my laptops. -
I use the Sony Privacy Filter as it is a thicker sheet and clips into the recessed already set around the lip of the screen frame. Easy to fit and remove and no chance of damaging the screen. Id does reduce the biewing angle from 160 degrees down to about 120 degrees (60 degreed each side of front on) but that's the whole purpose I guess.

Hi guys. Waiting for my Z 820G/B in the next couple of days, I had no idea there is a wide spread issue with scratching, but I just found a product called Wraspol Scratch-Proof Protection, anyone used it on their VAIO Z?
-
my major issue with the Z is the screen bruising.
do any of these solutions help? I'd be hard pressed if the microfiber helped.
I'm using an older version of the keyboard cover in this kit made out of a thin layer of neoprene.
