Does it do the same thing in another browser? Does anything else flicker? Does it only flicker when the page is loading? Does it flicker when the page is scrolling?

    More info needed.

I think it is a video card problem bonbooni.

I remember owning a PC and my screen would flicker when I am in Word only. In your case, it happens in IE.

you mean a defective hardware, or just a driver problem, because everything else works well. What did you do to solve your problem??

It is a hardware problem, not drivers-related... sorry to say!

What does it mean by flicker? Could it be accidentally activated functions on the touchpad? e.g. tapping

It does that only sometimes (it is as if the site flashes when I move the mouse, or scrolling) I switched on the compatability button mode in IE8 (the one on the right of the address bar)..it then sometimes stops the flashing/flickering. When I open the same site in FireFox, nothing ever goes wrong and it becomes very stable. I do not see how then it is a video card hardware problem, as previously mentioned..?!!!

    what do you think??

use firefox you will never face such a problem .. IE8 has a lot of problems and compatibility issue !!! you don't have any problem with your hardware !! it just a driver issue between the stupid IE and you graphic driver

IE8 doesn't work with high DPI settings, and presents a multitude of problems. Just do a few Google searches.

Someone in Redmond thought that DPI was for accessibility for handicapped, and not a setting that would be used to set the Dots Per Inch of the display...

Anyhow, ditch IE8, it's trash. If you can't go to a better browser like Firefox, Seamonkey or Opera, at least go back to IE7.
