    It's not really a claim, it's a fact, because I'm experiencing it.

I realize that lots of people use FF instead of IE, but this is exactly what I'm talking about, compromise. Why should I compromise just so I can get the best laptop on earth to run the simplest of an application? It makes no sense.

IE sucks no matter what computer you use. I've convinced a few to switch from IE to FF by just by showing them how much smoother and faster scrolling is on FF. If merely installing a free software is a compromise to you, the Mac is for you. Straight out of the box, browsing is so smooth and scrolling feels totally connected with the awesome Mac touchpad.

Either there's a hardware issue (very highly unlikely) on your specific Z, there's some software issue, or your expectation from IE is too high.

Is it possible for you to post a video showing how scrolling is like on your Z?

I scroll with the space bar in all browsers. No lag :)

Regardless, something is dorked up with the affected devices. That's what we need to troubleshoot.

YEs it´s a Z problem, I have an Vaio z11 2.4 ghz, 4gig and so on, I have been having this problem for a while now, it disapears if I reinstall windows, which I would hae to do every 3 months,
But after installing firefox adobe and so on the comes upp again
,, Often when streaming flash movies.. :p it builds upp wich makes the lagg come faster, but even if just using the comp with wordproccesing makes it slow down but it takes more time to come to the heavy lagging, or playing music for 30mins makes the lag come aswell, someone once told me it could be a memory leak, which slowly builds up after a couple of hours use,,, here is an example

    YouTube - VIDEO 020

IS there anyone whom has the solution to this problem or do we have to ask sony once again to hear them say, It´s not our problem...
This is for paying 3 grand for a comp. Next time it will be an IBM, sturdy and no lagging

you check your cpu/gpu temps and any processing sucking up cpu time? VGN-Z has been out for a while now, heatsink could be blocked.

Do you CPU load change before/during lag ? and how many processes at the time ?

P.S. : just to say, "z11" usually refers to VPC-Z, it's a bit confusing to use it for VGN-Z (but it's not very important)

hmmm I would presume so, Iv been using throttlestop for some monitoring..
After a couple of hours use webbrowsing, flashvideo, some radiostreaming 5-7 windows open continuesly,

Deegress is on 65 deegrees jumping +5 deegress celsius

ANd then I am using spotify and for every song changing the temp jumps upp to 80-82 celsius and then cools down as the stutter stops.. it´s stuttering at 70 72 deegres aswell but not that heavy.... fan is going ful speed....HMM heat problem?

nope non ordinary 5400 around 30 gig left but same thing at 100 gig space left...
Reboted the comp and did the same test as i did now. 7 windows of movies going, spotify and webbrowsing 78- 82 degrees but no stutering,, that would say that the heat is not a problem...

What temperatures are you measuring? There are components other than the CPU that can overheat, and some of them even when the CPU is near idle (and thus cold).

But anyhow, the Windows performance counters is your friend. Look at what's happening when you get stutters.

I seem to have fixed it by disabling Powermizer.

From what I'm reading here, the lagging issue seems to be happening on battery?

Anyways, nVidia has enabled Powermizer for their GPU, regardless of whether the Z is on battery or AC (yeah, doesn't make sense...). So basically, if your machine determines that you are not doing anything graphics intensive while on SPEED (or when the nVidia GPU is being used on AUTO), the GPU will downclock itself to save power, resulting in the lags. You can try this with the WINDOWS KEY + TAB (3D flip). It will lag the first few attempts, and try 3D flip again and it will be at full speed within a few seconds.

My way of confirming the down-clock is GPU-Z.

There was a Powermizer editor application buried somewhere in Nautis's hybrid graphics thread. I set my machine up to DISABLE Powermizer when on AC and enable when on battery.
