I have a Z21WN which recently started crashing randomly. I ran a RAM test which showed nothing wrong with them. The HDD (SSD) is all new (Intel X25). Lately (last couple of days) it has been crashing 2 times a day at random - the log shows nothing of interest and no BSOD, it just reboots.
Is there any diagnostic tools i can run that will test all the hardware components of the machine, to determine if it could be the main board that is the cause or something else?

Urgiv, I know this is a really old thread. But you pegged me exactly when you said "start laptop lift with both hand and squeeze chassy if shut off let me know"
I'm letting you know... LOL I have an FZ4000 Vaio. Just replaced motherboard with a used one cuz the graphics went out on original one. There were some BIOS issues with the replacement FZ400U MB (which was a tad different than original MB) so guy had me send whole computer off to him to do something to BIOS. Now all is working well except this business of trying to pick up my laptop or if I gently squeeze LCD as I tilt it forward or backwards, then it just BOOM! shuts off instantly! It seems particularly sensitive to pressure under rear, upper left corner, underneath. That's the cooling fan/heat sink area. I took it back apart and found fan to be loose and crappy thermal paste, so I fixed those issues and made sure all cables and MB and battery/power supplies were well secured and reassembled. Same problem. I'm using it unplugged right now, sitting on my lap, but if I dare to pick it up or tilt the screen, I am guaranteed an instant shut off. I've also recently had issues with the ISB mgr telling me there's no battery, blah, blah. I believe I've fixed that through the device mgr and ending process. It's been working fine for couple days now.
What say you about WHY it's instantly shutting off if I look at it the wrong way?
