About 6 months ago I reinstalled XP onto my VGN-FS760W VAIO after having had my fill with Vista. Long story short I had the internet hooked up yesterday at my place and hooked up my router to the modem. Sure enough, I can't remember my WEP password so I connect an ethernet line to the router to change the password and find that my computer ethernet port isn't working. My searching has shown that sometimes the drivers can go missing after doing a clean OS install, but I can't seem to update the right drivers to get my VAIO to recognize my ethernet port. I've visited the SONY site and some other sites, but no luck so far? Any ideas?

Couldn't you go into device manager and then use the "update driver" function to get a driver from the internet?

Otherwise, compare the hardware in your FS and if you find another laptop wih the same hardware use that driver.
