Anyone using notebook coolers on there VAIO?

I just recnetly had a FE41M and experinced it overheating. I think mainly due to my prelonged use, but anyway ive been after coolers that suite VAIO best?

What do you use to cool your VAIO?

i just prop it up at the back and sometimes the front - it increases the airflow and it will cool down in around 30 mins.

It never really gets hot if its always propped up.

Make sure the fans have clear ventilation

You can look at coolers from Vantec, Zalman and Targus.

hmm you seem to have a pretty similar spec to mine, i might get one of these if its the case of just increaseing air flow.

I never understood the importance of a cooler for a generally speaking not to powerful notebook.

    Sony makes awesome machines.

I can see why a tricked out Alienware would need a cooler.

    But a Vaio?

You either have dust in your notebook (open it up and use compressed air)

    or it's an old Vaio.

mines 1-2 weeks old, best thing they had in stock at PC world and deifinatly has no dust issue.

like i said i've had it one two week, and it overheated for the first time last night, playing a game. But Had been using it for a mixture of things up untill that point. I do a lot of multimedia design.

It had bee on about 6 hours, so I'm guessing my prelonged usage is making it overheat, I thinking having a cooler would stop this?

if you want to see more details i put them in the following thread
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=113745

I'm pretty sure I need something to bring the heat down. Does yours not overheat playing counterStike?

I presently have dell i6000, i know, i know, its a power hog and really heats up! I tried all kinds of notebook coolers (around 4! so i think i have a say here) and the best, the one i am using right now is antec cooler, its the best! Really brought down my temp. As far as sony goes, heating shouldnt be too much of a problem i think, but if it does, go for antec. I got it from 10 AR, find the best deal and get one!
