hey guys i bought a Sony Vaio AR320E about 3 weeks ago and the sales man said that it would be great for gaming. well it says that it has a 256mb card with 2 gb of ram but its only using 64 mb of the video card ram .... i want to dedicate more of the ram on the video card so i can play the games better ....... how can i do this .... and where can i get the video card update from nvidia to get the newest and better drivers ....

ohh btw its a nvidia geforce go 7400 video card ....

and the games ... well i have doom 3, half life 2 with counter-strike source, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted are the games that i play most. well doom i havent really played yet and same with HL 2 ... But i do play CSS alot and same with NFS-MW. when i play CSS its not too bad with the graphics pretty much up there ... and for NFS-MW ... well the graphics are all the way down to absolutely nothing on and it runs smoothly for a couple mins then it starts to become choppy and then itll be ok for a min then it goes back to being jerky again ..... its really really odd .... can any one help me please ....

the sales man told me that i wouldnt have a problem but im ready to take this thing back its bothering me this bad ....... thanks :D

Same thing happened to me with Prince of Persia Warrior within. At first, it's ok, then slowed down and choppy display and such.

Well i dont know much about the AR series. but if it's equipped with Go7400, it surely has 64Mb main memory and shared of 255 totaling 319 something.

I suggest update your video driver for smooth playing just like what i did. Download this updated forceware driver from softpedia.:

    NVidia Go Forceware

well i figured out my problem ......

i just got a better laptop

HP Pavilion DV9000 Entertainment PC laptop with:

Intel Centrino Duo (3.46 GHZ total)
    2GB ram
Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 - decaited 256 MB Ram (527MB Available, 271 shared)
    17" HD widescreen

    and so on ......

but the best part ..... 350 cheaper than the Sony Vaio that had less performance than this HP and the HP is lighter than the SONY IMHO :D
