    Hello guys,
I have received a premium carbon sceen lid replacement recently and need to change my current lid (it has some minor scretched caused by SONY service). I decided to do the job myself. Anyone done this job before and could offer some advice or pictures on the steps to follow and things to be careful with? Thanks in advance.

Unmount all bottom screws except the top three in a line in the battery compartment. Flip over, open lid carefully and remove the metal base plate. Take out all wires going into the hinges on both sides. Unmount the two screw left and right at the very outside at the bottom of the screen bezel. Unmount the hinge screws on the baseunit side (hidden under tape). Carefully take out the display assembly with cables and hinges. Unmount the screws holding the hinge plastic barrels in place and gently take of the barrels (they got a clasp inside). Take a guitar pick or similar plastic unclasper and gently slide between lid and bezel (I always start at the bottom of the screen) and unfasten the clasps around the bezel. Take it off carefully. Remove display, hinges, antennas, camera and the small magnet. Watch the proper orientation of this stuff so you can properly re-route all the cables when assembling. Pictures can be found from Zoinks.

OT: Damn first massive dead pixel madness, then you got a scratched machine - what a mess!

How much does a lid cost? I am interested in getting a glossy carbon fibre lid.
