Hey guys, I just recently ordered a Sony Vaio SR with the ati 3470 discrete graphics option. I know that there isn't an s-video output on the laptop, so I was trying to figure out how to get it hook up to a tv. I found the following on amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/EFORCITY-VGA-S-Video-RCA-Adaptor/dp/B000P3UB24

Would this be compatible with the SR? It says in the description that "Your VGA card must support TV out directly through VGA port function. Please consult with your VGA card's user manual for more information." Can the SR with the ATI card do this?

Also, if there is a better way of hooking up the SR to an older tv that does not have a vga port, (but it does have s-video) can anyone let me know how? Thanks!

Did it work. My TV has only S-Video and Hdmi ports. No VGA port :(
