I want to buy a 1680 x 1050 22" monitor for my sz360p/c and I was wondering how necessary it is to buy the dock which has the DVI connection. Can I just use a VGA connection?

That's about the size where the difference between DVI and VGA matters, from what I've read. I'd buy the monitor, try the VGA and then make a decision then. If you are pleased with the picture and it calibrates well (that is, if you are calibrating), then no need to go to DVI.

I would say you'd be fine with the VGA port. That said, I didn't even know there was a DVI adapter for the SZ....
