    Hello,

I've had a VGN A190 since they first came out, and it has been great. The biggest problem for me though, is that the backlight has gone out 4 times now. Each time before it was under warranty, so I didn't pay attention to what the problem was, but now it is out of warranty. I have it narrowed down to either the inverter, or the backlight bulb. I don't want to buy both, but thought that since it has gone out so many times on my notebook, that it might be a common problem, and somebody might know what the usual cause is. If anybody has any help, it is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Max

Hi, don't know if its common.

I've had mine since they came out too, that's like 4 years or more, and no issues with the display... well only the hard disk went bye bye, but even then the machine bios gave a warning message and I managed to do the full backup.
The display has been great, its dimmed over time but I still get a nice crisp image at around 80% setting.
Great machine, runs cool and ports are all in the right place, keyboard is really nice too. I think I'll keep it until it breaks.

oh, by the way mine came with the 15.4 inch 1280x800 and ati radeon 9200
