    Hey folks,

I've done research now for about 1 month and finally decided to post a topic here.
I own a VGN FE-770G its operated by vista ultimate 64bit. The OS works fine so far, but there are some drivers/components i just cant get to work.

    For Exampel:

    Webcam doesnt work at all
Sound works fine with internal speakers, but as soon as I plug in headphones no sound at all.
Shortcuts for volume working, but s1 and s2 keys not.
There is also no way to regulate the brightness of the screen (what gives me 40 mins of battery life :( )

The update on the sony site wasn't helpful at all ... just installed crap which in the end didn't work.

So I'm kinda desperate here... I really want at least my webcam and my audio card to work...

(letz not talk about sony support .... i chatted with one of their support guys ... after explaining my problem to him he advised me to swop my current graphic card for a 64bit graphic card. It took me about 20 mins until he/she understood my problem. After another 10 minutes he explained that there will be no support for my os because it's not the original OS. Seriously i think about selling my notebook and get a asus. The behavior of Sony is, in my opinion, absolut impertinent )

Well anyway, sorry for complaining, and if anyone has a idea how to fix this ... would be great.

"The High Definition Audio Inbox driver will replace the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Driver after the system upgraded. Sony will provide an updated driver that will fix the audio issue."http://esupport.sony.com/perl/support-info.pl?info_id=138. the webcam is also on the list of incompatible software

The reason why your sound and your other keys aren't working is this when sony sold you the laptop it probably came with windows media center and service pack2. so if you install windows pro or home edition it required service pack2 in order for all your devices to work. heres the link http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/spiderman3/site/noflash.php hopes it works for you like it did for me.

Why would you need vista ultimate 64bit, why not 32bit, unless you are really professional on the 3d rendering field, or large file convertion that will speed up on the 64bit platform, but others are no speed will increase at all. most of the 64bit driver hasn't being devolope until now, no matter what brand of laptop you gonna get now, you won't get prefect support on the 64bit system. I installed vista ultimate 64bit on my SZ450N/C, most stuff work, expect the webcam. and that's the best can get.

Considering Sony doesn't support or make 64-bit drivers for Vista, you're pretty much on your own here. It's not a Sony problem - most major laptop vendors do not natively support 64-bit XP or VIsta on their notebooks.
