    Hello,

I was looking at upgrading my default hard drive on my VAIO.
Currently it is: 80 gig 4200 RPM Ultra ATA

Does anyone have any experience upgrading their TX hard drive? I was looking for either 5400 or 7200 rpm but I'm concerned with heating issues.
I am assuming that there are no capacity limits and a 160Gb drive would work.

I did a search for this and could not find any other thread on this topic so hopefully I am not repeating.

    Thanks in advance!

The hard drive in the TX is a 1.8" drive. The only upgrades you can do is go with a 100GB 4200rpm 1.8" drive, or the various SSD 1.8" drives. There are currently no 5400rpm or 7200rpm drives in the 1.8" form factor.

Ahh, it's not worth the hassle for 20Gb more then. I had mainly wanted an increase in RPM for performance. SSD is still too expensive...

I'll just keep the default drive.

    Thanks again.
