I did a clean install and have installed all of the Sony Software for hardware, buttons and Media.

The STOP FORWARD BACK PLAY/PAUSE buttons work....but the AV MODE Button does not launch anything.

If I could get it to launch Win Media player or edit regitsry or something to just make it work the owner will be happy and more importantly, I will be done with this issue.

Also, when the volume hardware keys are used it does not display volume on screen.

If anyone knows what the solution to these 2 issues would be I will be eternally grateful and buy you a beer via paypal :)

    Thanks again

You need to install the Sony shared library, SFEP driver, Notebook utilities, and Vaio Launcher software to get the functionality you expect.
