    Hi guys,
I'm confused with the maximum memory amount of VGN-AR130G.

According to Sony's manual, the maximum amount is 2GB DDR2 533Mhz.
    http://www.docs.sony.com/release/specs/VGNAR130G_mksp.pdf .

However, Intel says 945PM supports up to 4GB DDR2 667Mhz.
    http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/945pm/index.htm

I contacted Sony and they said the notebook is designed to hold 2GB memory. They can't tell the compatibility of 4GB memory.

I want to upgrade the laptop's memory. Can anyone here help me on this problem? Thanks.

The chipset may support a lot of things but the BIOS has to support it as well. It may be that the BIOS can configure only 2GB of RAM.
