Hello- I have a unique problem

I recently reinstalled vista on a VGN-AR550E, and after the install sound is not coming out of my headphones when I have them plugged in.

however, in the control panel the headphones are being recognized when they are plugged in- and sound comes out of them when I do the test- even though the normal sound is playing through the speakers at the same time, so I know it is not a hardware problem

I have tried a variety of drivers- and nothing is working.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

    Thanks
