    Hi all,

    I just finished clean installing Windows 7 64-bit to a Sony VGN-AR670.

Everything worked as far as driver and the Sony Shared Library, with 1 exception:

I can't customize the behavior of the S1 and S2 function keys with the Sony Manager software anymore... I still get a popup balloon to "please set the missing button action" when I press S1 or S2 from the Sony software. This configuration dialog page was there and working in Vista 32-bit.

Any ideas?? I have everything else working OK using the special function buttons on the left of the keyboard like mute, eject, volume + and -.
And they even trigger the correct Sony OSD and speaker beep in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Just no dice with the S1 or S2 buttons.

    Thanks!

I just had the thought that someone using Vista on a VAIO VGN-AR might be able to help me with this... the Sony Control Panel must be saving its button actions for the S1 and S2 buttons as registry keys.

If someone could check their Vista machine for the relevant S1/S2 button keys in the registry, I'd appreciate it! I'll check tonight on my machine to see if there's anything relevant there on my system.

I would like to use S1 as "Full Brightness" and S2 as "Vivid" display mode again in Windows 7.
