The problem I have is that this is on the USA site but not the Canadian and I am Canadian. I sent an email asking if I can purchase this laptop from a Canadian Sony Style shop. If not, I will go to one tomorrow. What do you guys think? Do you think I could purchase it? Also everyone, how are my specs? Please let me know since this will be my university laptop and I will be in classes lasting up to 3 hours long. I need this to be big since lots of projects (3 times a week) and very fast (internet)

Looks fairly good but i doubt the battery will last 3 hours :( It will also probably be very heavy.

As titan said you can probably get an AR with a 1920 x 1200 screen and blu ray for the same price. Maybe a more cost efficiant processor.

I added the extended battery? Do you think that will last longer? What would make the battery be eat up so quickly?

Power consumption :p A 9 cell battery might extend battery life. What gpu does it have? The difference between integrated and dedicated could be 20mins to half an hour.

I made the mistake of getting the 1440x900 AR with Blu-Ray. For sure go for the 1920x1200. It still looks good at 1440x900, but not nearly as good as WUXGA.

Not a huge mistake kGann :D I have the same on mine and 1440 x 900 is perfect for a 17" screen imo ;) Havn't tried any blu-ray films on it yet but i reckon it'll look fine scaled down.

Willy, they do look good, but I should have opted for the 1920x1200 so I could have enjoyed Blu-Ray in all of it's glory.

But I do agree, I like my desktop at 1440x900. The 8400GT is just powerful enough to run a lot of my games at native resolution... I don't think the same could be said if I would have gotten the WUXGA.
