    Dear all members,

my VGN-CR21S/W has suddenly lost sound (speakers arent working), ive checked and double checked everything, vol. on max, no mute.

if there is another thread like this, it wud be great if u can kindly direct me to it cos i've used the search but cant find one.

if not, is there any way to solve this? ive already tried the sony e-support but it doesnt help at all :(

    thanks in advance!
    kind regards.

The SZ can in the "vaio max battery mode plus" disable the actual "audio device".
Have you checked whether your audio is switched on in the device manager?

SZ is just another Vaio line ;)

Have you tried using the headphone Jack, what happens then? Still no sound?

Another thing, which operating system are you running?
For example on XP one might overlook the "wave" "bit" which could switch off sound.

Have you recently upgraded you audio drivers? You might want to go back to the old driver.
Else I can't think of anything but the worst case szenario right now - and that would be that your soundcard is broken.

You might want to try and talk to the Sony support again (be friendly, we had a discussion about that in here, the friendlier you are, the friendlier is the person from support) and try mentioning everything you've done.

    ______

Generally the more you mention the easier it is to find a problem.
Consider someone says a ship is taking on water. What are the options? Storm and open hatch. Or a hole in the hull, etcetera etcetera.

haha im back yes with a smile on my face.

detlevcm, i cudnt think of what else i could do other than shut down the laptop and hope for a miracle.. lol which was sucessful! im sure this isnt down to luck..

ive searched all over and found a topic on answers.yahoo stating that some1's cr21s also had this problem, the laptop decides when to have the sound on and off!

anyways, i hope this doesnt happen again.

and once again, thank u for tryin to help me out, i really do appreciate ur help!

    kindest regards,
    BoN
