I've got a new, larger hard drive coming in for my VGN-FE550G.
I wiped my HD once before and reinstalled windows, and I was never really satisfied with the install, and am trying to plan ahead to prevent the same issues.
I never made the recovery discs, and I feel like there's not enough drivers on the sony website to cover everything.
Every time I turn the computer on or bring it back from standby, there's an alert that comes on saying a device is plugged into a usb 1.1 port and can run faster... It's obviously something built in, and this didn't happen before the install.
*edit* I just paid attention to it as it came up, and it's the built in camera. I've reinstalled drivers on it a couple times before, and it never got rid of the message. I've attached a pic of the message.
I also could never find the software for setting up different profiles when running on ac or battery.
So if anyone who's been through this had any advice on what else I should download aside from what's on the sony site, that'd be great.
Thanks

Any suggestions? Just got the new hard drive, and am awaiting arrival of my media center discs tomorrow. Would like to have a smoother install thistime.
