    Hey all,

I need your expertise...last summer I installed some firmware and like an idiot I closed the disc drive which consequently ruined my disc drive. As you are all probably aware this then causes the Vaio to freeze on the Vaio screen upon startup because it detects the disc drive and because it doesnt work it wont start up the computer. This then leads to turning it off, then on again NUMEROUS times till the computer does not detect the disc drive.

What I need to know is how to uninstal the disc drive? I cant fix the firmware problem, we have tried everything and it did warn me but I have OCD about things like that, doors being open on cupboards etc.

So any advice on how to do that would be fantastic so I can avoid this frustration everytime I turn on my computer.

    Thankyou in advance
    Claire
