    Hey guys,

My laptop is about 15 months old. I've noticed in recent weeks that the screen has started to flicker intermittantly. The flicker is quite faint, the screen doesn't turn off, it's almost as though the brightness turns down for a fraction of a second, then restores to the original brightness. There is no set pattern to it, and adjusting the position of the screen, i.e. tilting it forwards/backwards has no effect.

I've been trying to get on with it, but today the screen seemed to turn off complete. I say 'seemed', because I was using MS Word at the time, and if you looked at the screen at certain angles you could just about make out some writing, so the screen was not 'off' completely, but it was totally unviewable. The only way I could restore the picture was to turn the machine off and on again.

I'm concerned that it might be a hardware issue, as I've had similar problems with previous notebooks, but wonder if it could also be a software issue.

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for looking and any help given!
